Rondeau from “Sinfonie de Fanfares”, transcribed here for Brass Quintet, is arguably one of Jean-Joseph Mouret’s most performed compositions. This Fanfare has numerous performance applications and this transcription is of an intermediate level of difficulty.

No.9 - “Nimrod” from Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations transcribed here for Brass Quintet. This is an easy to intermediate level arrangement of Elgar’s most popular variation from the Enigma variations.

This Tango by Isaac Albéniz is the second in the suite of six pieces originally written for piano entitled España Op. 165 transcribed here for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. It is a charming little piece of intermediate level difficulty but programmable for advanced ensembles as well. Playing time 2:00

Pizzicato Polka by Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss, transcribed here for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. This is an advanced intermediate transcription of the Strauss’ playful little polka. Although of the classical persuasion, it is both appropriate as a concert novelty piece and as an Oktoberfest selection! Playing time approximately: 3:00

These beautiful melodies are suitable for general performance, worship services, Weddings, Funerals and as warmup exercises that actually have five independent voices. Both intermediate to professional level ensembles will find value in this collection.

Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber from String Quartet, Op.11 transcribed here for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. Arguably one of Samuel Barber’s best-known works, this piece has been used in several Movies and TV Shows, perhaps most notably the 1986 Academy Award Winning movie “Platoon”. This beautiful but mournful piece is suitable for general performance, Worship Services, Funerals or other sad and reflective events. While not technically difficult, it is emotionally exhaustive to play. Playing Time 6:10.

This is a collection of 10 Pavans and Galliards by Anthony [Antony] Holborne transcribed here for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. These songs from the Renaissance period are suitable for general performance, Religious Services, Funerals and as warmup exercises that actually have five independent voices. Both intermediate to professional level ensembles will find this collection valuable. The performance time for all is approximately 22:50 with repeats and 12:00 without.

Trio Sonata No.9 "The Golden Sonata", Z.810 (originally in F Major) by Henry Purcell and arranged for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. This Sonata was originally written for two violins, cello and continuo and all four original movements are included. This Baroque period composition is appropriate for secular and sacred performances and is an advanced intermediate to early advance arrangement. The performance time for the entire sonata is 7:40.

Movement IV. La Rejouissance from George Fredrick Handel’s, Royal Fireworks Music, transcribed here for Brass Quintet. It is perhaps the most performed movement of this suite, is early to mid-advanced difficulty and suitable for a variety of performance applications.

Prelude to Act III of Richard Wagner’s highly acclaimed opera Lohengrin transcribed for Brass Quintet. This is an intermediate advance level piece, for the lower voices and advanced level (double/triple tonguing suggested) for the upper two voices. The transcription is true to the composer’s intent for this universally recognized work. Playing time approximately 3:20.

Pilgrim's Chorus, from the opera Tannhäuser by Richard Wagner arranged for Brass Quintet. This is moderately easy arrangement to easier advanced depending on the part. Playing time approximately 3:10.

The Snow music composed by Sir Edward Elgar and lyrics by Caroline Elgar arranged for Brass Quintet by Kenneth Abeling. This pensive secular, part song originally written for SSA choir and two violins works beautifully for small ensembles. The playing time is approximately 5:40.
